Debbie Frazier earns advanced board leadership certification
OEC Board Trustee Debbie Frazier recently earned her NRECA Board Leadership Certificate (BLC), a key credential in electric cooperative leadership. This certification represents the second level in NRECA’s Director Education Program, reinforcing her ongoing commitment to excellence in cooperative governance and utility board certification.
What it takes to earn the BLC
To earn the BLC, a director must first complete the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) program, followed by ten additional credits from a series of advanced board training courses. These courses dive into critical areas such as risk management, power supply knowledge, policy development, technology, ethics, and effective board decision-making. These topics support strong governance practices across electric utilities.
Why continued education matters
The program is specifically designed to equip board members with advanced understanding of the energy sector governance landscape. This ensures they can contribute to a more well-rounded and informed utility board, especially in today’s rapidly evolving cooperative environment.
Frazier’s commitment to OEC members
Debbie’s commitment to ongoing education is a reflection of her dedication to serving OEC members with knowledge, integrity and steady leadership. Her achievement adds another layer of strength to OEC’s focus on member service excellence and cooperative board development.
Congratulations, Debbie!
