OEC is committed to helping you make your home the most efficient it can be. To that end we offer rebates for installation of energy efficient heat pumps and water heaters. Before purchasing and/or installing a heat pump OEC recommends members:
- Select an Energy Star rated product
- Get at least three bids before contracting the work
- Verify their heat & air company is qualified to install heat pumps
To qualify for an OEC rebate, please satisfy the following conditions:
- Rebate claim must be made within 6 months of installation
- Submit copies of the sales slip or work order with the rebate request form. The form may be viewed and printed by clicking on the link below or call our office at (405) 321-2024 to have one mailed to you.
- Set up a time for an inspection with Gary Hickman, (405) 217-6707.
To qualify for the rebate levels below, installation must be completed on or after January 1, 2010. Installation prior to this date may be eligible for 2009 rebate levels.

| Heat Pump Rebates |
Rebates are available for the installation of heat pumps in the following conditions:
- Newly constructed homes, apartments and other structures billed under OEC's residential rate
- Existing structures converting from gas to electric
- The upgrade of an existing electric system to a higher SEER rating.
Heat pumps must meet the following requirements to be eligible for a rebate:
- The equipment must be new
- 14.5 SEER (seasonal energy efficiency rating) or better (verifiable in the most recent Air Conditioning Research Institute manual)
Rebates are as follows:
- Air-source or Dual-fuel - $325 per ton of installed heat pump cooling capacity
- Upgrade to a higher SEER rated system - $225 per ton of installed heat pump cooling capacity
- Geothermal/Ground-source with desuperheater - $650 per ton of installed heat pump cooling capacity
- Geothermal/Ground-source without desuperheater - $400 per ton of installed heat pump cooling capacity (Geothermal systems must be total electric to quality at the geothermal/ground-source level rebate. Gas back-up geothermal systems qualify at the dual-fuel level.)

| Hot Water Heater Rebates |
Rebates are available for new hot water heaters meeting the following conditions:
- Newly constructed homes, apartments and other structures billed under OEC’s commercial or residential rate
OR
- Existing structures, residential or commercial, converting from gas to electric water heating. The replacement of an existing electric water heater does not qualify for a rebate.
Water heaters must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- The equipment must be new
- A minimum R-12 insulation value
- Two 4,500 watt heating elements
- A five-year tank warranty
Rebates are $180 per eligible electric water heater installed.
