The members of OEC elect a board of trustees to act as its governing body and to establish the overall policies of the cooperative. Each trustee is a co-op member representing one of nine districts—the one in which he/she lives—within the co-op’s service area, and is elected during district meetings to serve a three-year term.
The primary purpose of district meetings is electing the district’s trustee and to provide performance reports and updates to co-op members. Members are officially notified of these meeting through a special mailing in mid-July.
The meeting dates and locations for this year’s district meetings are as follows:
- District 2: July 31 at Twelve Corners Baptist Church
- District 4: July 28 at Newcastle Middle School
- District 8: July 29 at Grace Place Baptist Church
If you live in one of the areas highlighted on OEC’s system map, above, be on the lookout for your notice in the mail and bring it with you to the meeting for registration. If you have any questions about you district meeting, call OEC’s member services department at 217-6708.
